My maternal grandmother, Katarina STAHURSKI, herded sheep for her father, Metro STAHURSKI. She immigrated alone through New York in 1910 and settled in Gary, Indiana where she married Wasyl ARDON/ARDAN, also from Galicia (immigrated through New York in 1904). Neither of them were English literate, so their names received various treatment here in the US. Wasyl basically changed his name to "Charley ARDEN." He worked in a railway depot in Indiana and way killed 8 Aug 1933 in Gary, Indiana. They had six living children, five boys and a daughter. I would like to find information on Wasyl's parents, his original home town, other family, and Katarina's ancestors in Galicia. I will be glad to share information.
