For others who may encounter the same title, I received the following analysis:

_al_ = 'vice'- as in 'viceroy', 'sub-' as in 'Subcomandante Marcos', 'under' as in 'undersecretary of state'.

_esperes_ is 'dean' or 'archpriest' (what the Brits call 'rural dean'). A diocese is divided into districts, and in each district a priest is appointed dean or archpriest. Clergy of the district usually submit problems to him; if they cannot be resolved at the district level, he passes them on to the bishop.

So I take _alesp._ to be 'assistant' or 'associate' 'dean' or 'archpriest'.

General Magyar dictionaries are poor in ecclesiastical terminology. O tempora, O mores!
