On January 23, 1591, the landowner, Katerina Waposka ordered that all of the people in Hludno and VAra would have to become Roman Catholics and that all baptisms would have to be performed by a Roman Catholic Priest. It is not certain when the Greek Catholic parish was reinstated, but in 1648 there is a mention that o. Oleksij Steckovych purchased the land for the church
