At first the church was designated as a chapel but promoted to parish status in 1887. The wooden church was built 1797/8 and renovated in 1922. A four room masonry rectory was erected in 1897. In 1589 the Bishop of Krakow donated the land for support of a Greek Catholic priest and in 1659, because this original document had burned, the Bishop of Krakow confirmed the possession of the parish and all of the land as well as land in the filial parish of CHERTYZHNE.
In 1785 the village lands comprised 9.11 sq.km. There were 368 Greek Catholics no Roman Catholics and no Jews
