Church was "Saint Nicholas" [1925 ] [ still standing ]
The wooden church was burned during the 1944-47 deportations but is now
restored. The villages dates from the princes period. 2 km from the church. on
a 300m. hill overlooking the San River there was a former Basilian church of the
Ascension built in 1510. The monastery which also ran a school for woodcarvers
was supressed by Joseph II in the late 18th century and the monks were
transferred to Dobromyl. A new icon screen had been painted in 1683.
The church - now a museum is the oldest surviving wooden Greek Catholic
church in Poland.
From 1842 until 1861 the were 2 administrators in the parish. 1 in Ulyuch
and one in nearby Dobra.
In 1785 the village lands comprised 19 sq km. There were 1150 Greek
Catholics 80 Roman Catholics and 40 Jews
