The masonry church was built in 1914 and replaced an older wooden church that was erected in 1701 and was renovated and blessed in 1887. In 1882 a sobriety society was established in the parish, and the owners of the local taverns hired an arsonist to torch the church. It was probably after some fire damage that it had to be rebuilt and blessed in 1887. Mention of the parish is made in 1581 when the landowner gave permission to Danjan Ban'kovs'kyj tp purchase land for the parish, with the condition that the priest would always come from his family. The first pastor therefore would have been of the family Ban'kovs'kyj.
