The wooden church was renovated in 1927. It replaced an older church that existed as early as 1791 when the rectory was built and the priest moved there from PRYSLIP. There was also a wooden chapel that was built in 1889. From 1967 services were celebrated only 3 times a year but since 1984 there have been regular services - although the mountain roads are barely passable in the winter.
