The village was a filial parish to KLYMKIVKA until 1855.

The wooden church was renovated in 1909 and replaced an older church. It is now used by an Orthodox congregation

The village was badly struck by cholera in 1873 and many of the people died. In 1873 there were 991 people and in 1874 there were only 932 - a loss of almost 10%
