The church was "Epiphany of Our Lord"[1872] [still standing]

The masonry church was renovated in 1930. It replaced an older wooden church that existed in 1651 after the first church burned.

In 1547 the Bishop of Krakow assigned land for the village and parish. The property was not sufficient so in 1581 permission was given to purchase additional land.

From 1844 until 1848 there were 2 administrators - one in Krynycja and another in Povoroznyk which became an independent chapel.

Bishop Josyf Sembratovych (1870-1882) son of the priest was born here on November 8, 1821

In 1785 the village lands comprised 31.44 sq km. There were 945 Greek Catholics 160 Roman Catholics and 8 Jews
