The village was a filial parish of VIRKHOMLJA VELYKA until 1857 when it was made a filial parish of ZHEGESTIV

The village mentioned an existing church as early as 1547. There is mention that the Bishop of Krakow in 1664 assigned land for the support of a parish and exempted it from taxes.
